1. Love your kids. Love them like you’ve never loved anyone else.

2. Respect your kids. Show them the same respect you expect them to show others. When important decisions are to be made don’t shut the door and do it yourself involve them. It makes them feel wanted and important and teaches them the value of making big decisions together.

3. Find out what it is your kids like, love, enjoy.. and participate. Know what music they are listening to and do stupid dances when their songs come on. Go to their activities at school and root for them no matter how good / bad they are; encourage them to try different things if they don’t like what they’ve picked.

I’m no expert but it seems to have really worked for me.
