Who Doesn’t Know What I’m Talking About

Things I learned while on vacation

When smooth hands perform, magic tricks are cool every time. Even when you know how it’s done. There are far too many McDonalds and far too few Sheetz. People aren’t who they first seem. Sometimes they are better, and sometimes they are much. much. worse. A rise in gas prices of 38c while on a long road trip only costs an extra 7 bucks or so a tankful, but it feels much more crippling. Spending time on the road with a pre-teen is the coolest thing ever. Especially a clever, funny one. You can listen to a movie through the car speakers, and actually get more out of it than when you see it. Friend’s families are sometimes way better than actual families. Librarians are a special breed. Small town librarians, who, seemingly should be the nicest, aren’t always. I can actually live comfortably without a cell phone. For, like, days at a time. Starbucks is addictive even for a tightwad like me. As great as vacation is, it’s ten times better to just go home again.
